Fires in Southern California the past 4 days have been devastating. We got a text message from Gary's sister Shannon telling us about a fire being a few miles from them, but they were fine at that time. We luckily get one LA tv station and were hypnotized by the pictures. Corona, Anaheim Hills and Yorba Linda all impacted by the fire. Doug, Shannon and Calah were a few miles away from Yorba Linda and we all prayed that they and their home would be saved. As of right now it looks safe but those nasty Santa Ana winds can pick up at anytime and switch the route of the fire. They had things packed if they needed to evacuate. Luckily for them it wasn't necessary, unfortunately for many others their homes were lost.
We started discussing what we would hurry and pack up if we were told to evacuate. Kyle made sure we knew that his Wii and video games would need to be in the car along with the dog. To me..the family pictures and of course the computer that holds so many pictures on it would be important.
Hoping that the fires get contained and all can be well in Southern California again. Our hearts go out to everyone there. I go into work this morning to find out about a coworker who just moved from Arizona to Chino Hills..hope she is ok as well. This brings back such memories of the Oakland hills fire in the 90's.
Doug, Shannon and Calah we are happy that you are all safe, looking forward to seeing you at Thanksgiving!
