Kyle returned to school after having most of the month of May off track. He is just about done with 2nd grade! June 23rd is his last day at Lone Tree and the Antioch School District. Gary and I have been very happy with his 2nd grade teacher Ms. Martinez. She has the perfect mix of discipline, tough love and yet is quick to give lots of praise and encouragement. Kyle has done really well in her class this year.
Last night after Kyle and Kim got home from work/school Kyle decided he was not going to talk. He wanted to see how long he could go without talking. Part of this was a meltdown about to happen and part of it was a game. Well, as the night progressed he began talking but had a big meltdown. After much coaxing he finally admitted that he really missed Daddy. Kyle is such a great kid that when we have these rare behavior issues it catches us off guard. He's very close to Gary and this has been very hard on him. We all can't wait to be a family again..soon. As of today its 23 days until we move!
When Kim was putting him to bed we talked about his bad day and he started singing his song that he has really grown to like lately, "So you had a bad day..." and that seemed to make things a bit better.
Good news is that this morning when he woke up he was extra, extra good. He got his own breakfast started, dressed himself, brushed his teeth and packed his backpack all without Mommy having to remind him. Now that's our awesome boy that we are used too!
